How the lists are computed

The database has 5 237 foods. The snack pool keeps the ones a person would reach for between meals and filters out long laboratory variants — no commas in the name, at most three words, no cooking or preserving qualifiers — leaving 722 plainly-named foods. Each list page then applies one stated rule and sorts by the number that matters for that goal. Every value is per 100 g; the label wins for anything in a package.

These are per-100 g database averages for whole foods, not a diet plan and not medical advice. Nuts, dairy, eggs and gluten appear across the lists — check allergies before serving, and if you are managing a condition, speak to a clinician or a registered dietitian.

About the figures

Values are per 100 g from the TempoLife food database, which mixes published national food-composition tables and USDA FoodData Central (US Government works, public domain). The rule for each list is stated on the list page itself, and the suite re-checks every row against that rule.
